Lipstick Queen Smoky Lip Kit

The smokey eye has become a go to look for beauty lovers everywhere now it is time to discover the smokey lip.

What it is:
Lipstick Queen has designed a new kit to help you create this intriguing and romantic lip look. Each kit contains a full coverage Sinner lipstick and a Black Lace Rabbit lipstick. This new mysterious black lipstick is so sheer that it has the effect of wearing black lace on your lips. Worn alone, it casts a smokey veil over the lips' natural color. Worn over another full-coverage lipstick, it transforms the color into a sexier, darker, smokier version.

Colors in the Set:
Black Lace Rabbit (Sheer black with gold specks)
Pinky Nude Sinner (Opaque pink-based nude)

Swatches:
Colors from Top to Bottom :
Black Lace Rabbit, Pinky Nude Sinner,
& Black Lace Rabbit over Pinky Nude Sinner

Verdict: This lip kit may become my new favorite duo for fall. Pinky Nude Sinner was a great nude color. It looked great and went on smoothly. I probably have similar shades in my lip arsenal but its a color I gravitate towards. The star in this kit is definitely Black Lace Rabbit, it looked so interesting. It was very moisturizing on the lips and did a great job as a transforming topcoat. I would definitely recommend the set or even just the black lipstick on its own. I foresee many fun lip transformations in my near future.

Victoria Beckham to Launch a Limited-Edition Cosmetic Collaboration with Estée Lauder

My favorite Spice Girl and fashion icon, Victoria Beckham, has collaborated with Estee Lauder to launch a limited edition makeup collection. The Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder collection will debut in the U.S. and the U.K. on Sept. 13, 2016.

The collection will be sold in select retailers, including Victoria Beckham Dover Street, Bergdorf Goodman, Selfridges, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom, plus the retailers’ web sites.

The collection contains 15 items, including a limited edition portable lighted mirror. While the main focus of the collection is on the eyes and lips, there is also a bronzer, highlighter, and skin cream. The skin and face products are designed to be multitasking, while the lip and eye items are bold and glistening with shine and texture. The prices for the collection will range from $30 to $1,200.

In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Beckham said that her aim with her collection is to empower women, fill a few market niches, complement her fashion collection and relay some of the makeup and skin-care wisdom she’s gathered from a life spent on airplanes, red carpets and in the full glare of paparazzi flashbulbs.

“I was very specific about what I wanted. It was about the must-have items that I felt everybody should have in their makeup bag, things that are really quite difficult to find because I know, I’ve searched,” said Beckham.
The aim was also to deliver products people could immediately associate with her, “whether it’s a smoky eye, a nude lip, or dewy skin. So I’ve been very honest, very true to myself. This has been something that I’ve wanted to do for so many years,” she said.

Estee Lauder plans to support the collections launch through digital and social media, and through public relations and events. Victoria Beckham is planning on doing two personal appearances, one at Bergdorf Goodman and at the other at Selfridges in September.

Kat Von D Serpentina Eyeshadow Palette

"The inspiration for this palette came more from a sentiment versus an actual muse. But if I had to choose a physical representation, I'd say it's inspired by the essence of Egypt—Cleopatra to be specific. Although she's portrayed as one of the most beautiful women in history, the truth is, her most powerful qualities were her intelligence and self-creation. She was the original pioneering woman."    —Kat Von D
What it is:
A limited-edition eye shadow palette inspired by the opulence and beauty of ancient Egypt. The palette features eight pressed powders in matte and metallic shimmer finishes, plus a removable jar of gold loose pigment.
Colors in this Palette:
  • Bloodmilk (matte brick red)
  • Medusa (bronze shimmer)
  • Ankh (matte black with gold glitter)
  • Queen (rust glitter)
  • Hieroglyph (copper shimmer)
  • Nile (ocean blue shimmer)
  • Scarab (emerald shimmer)
  • Venom (matte royal purple)
  • Prophet (fool's gold loose pigment)

Swatches:

Verdict: First off, I just have to say that I am living for the jewel tone shadows in this palette. This palette comes with five bright metallic shades, three matte shades plus a loose shimmer pigment. The metallic finish eye shadows are absolutely gorgeous. They apply soo smoothly and have an intense pigmentation. The three matte eye shadows, on the other hand, left more to be desired. I found Bloodmilk, Ankh, and Venom to be quite patchy and very difficult to work with. I should also note that because the majority of the shadows in the palette are shimmery there is a good amount of fallout but this can be reduced if you use an eye shadow primer. The palette has some great colors in it but no good transition shades. I'm definitely on the fence about this palette, I love Kat Von D products but for some reason I am on the fence about this palette.
