Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Starlit Hyper-Glitz Lipsticks

What it is:
A limited-edition metallic lipstick that’s buildable to the ultimate jewel chrome finish.

Colors in the Collection:
Gravity (shimmering hot pink)
Sci-Fly (glimmering garnet)
$upanova (twinkling pink orchid)
Supermoon (sparkling peach)

Swatches:

Verdict:
I was soo excited when I heard that Rihanna was releasing a holiday collection for her Fenty Beauty line. The brand has become an overnight success thanks to its motto of "Beauty for All." I really wanted to love these lippies but unfortunately they just didn't meet my expectations. First off let me start out with the pros. The packaging on these lipsticks was spot on. The shape of the tube and the coloring were very unique. The formula was also very buttery however the cons outweigh the pros. I was hoping for a big glitter blast on my lips but instead I barely got a wash of color. The lipstick formula was very sheer. There was not enough pigment to hide my natural lip color so everything looked very uneven. Overall the lipstick was very drying, ended up looking gritty, and had no staying power. I am sad to say that this lipstick was just hyped up too much and in the end what you end up purchasing is a tube of gloried chapstick.

Too Faced Melted Matte Long Wear Liquid Lipstick in Gingerbread Man

What it is:
A limited-edition rustic spiced red liquid matte lipstick with a sweet gingerbread scent.

Swatch:

Verdict: I am absolutely loving this new melted matte shade from Too Faced. The color is amazing and is giving me major fall/winter vibes not to mention that the gingerbread man packaging is crazy adorable. The formula is definitely long wear. This lipstick did not budge. I actually had to put in some effort to remove the color off my lips at the end of the day. This limited edition melted matte shade is amazing and would be such a fun holiday stocking stuffer.

* If you would like to pick up your own Too Faced Melted Matte Long Wear Liquid Lipstick in Gingerbread Man it retails for $21 and is currently available at Sephora and on the Too Faced website. Click the links for more details: Sephora, Too Faced

MAKE UP FOR EVER Lustrous Faves Set

What it is:
Get party ready with this limited-edition lip gloss and loose powder set of neutral metallic lip essentials.

This set contains:
  • Artist Metallic Lip Gloss in Pink Champagne
  • Star Lit Powder in 13 Ivory

Swatches:
Colors from T to B: Pink Champagne, Ivory, Pink Champagne lip gloss topped with Ivory star lit powder

Verdict: This set is absolutely fantastic. You get two full sized Make Up For Ever beauty products for just $25. The metallic lip gloss is a beautiful shade of pink and the starlit powder is a perfect white gold color. The lip gloss was a bit sticky but the color payoff was fantastic. This MUFE lipgloss was so much better than the Smashbox metallic liquid lipsticks I had tried out a few months ago. The starlit powder can be used on its own or added on top of the lipgloss to give your lip look a bigger dose of glitter. I am a fan of this new set and cannot wait to create some awesome metallic lip looks for the holiday season.

* If you would like to pick up your own MAKE UP FOR EVER Lustrous Faves Set it retails for $25.oo and is currently available at Sephora. Click the link for more details: Sephora

BECCA Après Ski Eyeshadow Palette

What it is:
A limited edition eyeshadow palette featuring Becca's bestselling Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter formula customized specifically for the eyes.

Colors in the Palette:

  • Rose Quartz (soft pink)
  • Moonstone (pale gold)
  • Opal (golden opal pearl)
  • Topaz (golden bronze pearl)
  • Toasted Marshmallow (taupe brown)
  • Hot Cocoa (warm burgundy)
  • Pearl (soft luminescent white)

Swatches:

Verdict: Its my favorite time of the year. The holiday sets are arriving quickly and I am loving it. The new Apres Ski palette from Becca is gorgeous. The packaging alone is just so chic. The colors look beautiful in the palette but unfortunately no transition shades are included. The formula of the shadows is a bit lackluster. The shades apply quite sheer and you really need to pack them on to achieve a nice opaque look. If you just want a sheer wash of color then this palette is great for you but other then that I would recommending passing on it.

* If you would like to pick up the BECCA Après Ski Eyeshadow Palette it retails for $45.oo and is currently available at Sephora and ULTA. Click the links for more details: Sephora, ULTA

Tarte Goddess Glow Highlighter

What it is:
A limited edition golden champagne highlighter that will illuminate every single skin tone.

Swatch:

Verdict: Tarte has definitely been stepping up their beauty game over the past few years but this highlighter just missed the mark for me. The color was to close to my skin tone and the formula was very powdery. This highlighter definitely needs some type of primer to really pop on the skin. My favorite aspect of this highlighter was actually the embossed design. It looks lovely and didn't disappear after use. I think it will probably last until I get closer to hitting pan.

* If you would like to pick up the Tarte Goddess Glow Highlighter it retails for $35.oo and will be available at Sephora. Click the links for more details: Sephora

Yves Saint Laurent Night 54 Fall 2017 Nail Lacquer Collection

What it is:
New limited edition nail lacquer shades for Fall 2017, inspired by Studio 54, the epicenter of disco in the 1970s.

Colors:
  • 54 Studio Silver (circular holographic glitter in a clear base)
  • 55 Dancing Bronze (thin gold string glitter in a bronze base)

Swatches:
Verdict: I love glitter nail polishes so these new Fall shades from YSL where just calling my name. The first shade I tried out was "Studio Silver." This polish looked amazing in the bottle but it was a bit of a let down once applied. The glitter was very chunky and difficult to work with. I applied multiple layers to be able to get an even coat on my nails. At the end I just didn't like the way the polish looked and the clean up was so difficult. The second shade I tried was "Bronze Fever." This shade worked out a bit better. The polish was pretty and looked great after two coats. I like YSL nail polishes and the applicators are fantastic but these new fall shades were a big fail.

* If you would like to pick up one or both of the Yves Saint Laurent Night 54 Nail Lacquers they  retail for $28.oo each and are available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, and the YSL Beauty website. Click the links for more details: Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, YSL

Pat McGrath Is Launching A Permanent Makeup Collection

Pat McGrath, the legendary makeup artist, will finally be releasing a permanent makeup collection. This is a huge change from the makeup artist’s existing business plan, which was founded on the idea that demand trumps supply. McGrath's previous seven makeup releases have sold out in minutes, even causing site crashes. This permanent makeup collection will finally allow her products into the hands of more consumers.

The permanent makeup collection will launch first on patmcgrath.com on September 16 and then hit Sephora stores starting on October 6.

The launch will come in two waves: first on September 16 with 40 shades of lipstick and then on September 28 with 11 shades of lip liner, 5 shades of eyeliner, a mascara, and an eyeshadow palette. E-mail subscribers may have the opportunity to shop the collection earlier via secret pre-sales.

Prices will range from $25-$125 per piece. Lipsticks will retails for $38 each, Eye Pencils and Lip Pencils for $25 each, Mascara for $28 and Eye Palettes for $125.
