Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Highlighting Eyeshadow Palette Vol. III

What it is:
A creamy eyeshadow palette with eight shades that catch the light for an instant eye-illuminating effect with no primer needed.

Colors in the Palette:

  • Escape (nude pink luster)
  • Tiki (matte beige)
  • Heat Wave (pink luster)
  • Malibu (plum bronze)
  • Rays (peachy copper)
  • Compass (champagne)
  • Jewel (copper)
  • Treasure (pearlescent)

Verdict: I picked up this palette at a VIB Rouge event a few weeks ago. The palette is definitely on the neutral side. The formula of these shadows is different to the previous Rainforest of the Sea eyeshadow palettes. The shadows in this palette are similar to the formula of The Make Believe in Yourself Palette that was part of Tarte's Unicorn Collection. The shadows are very pigmented and apply super smoothly. There is one matte shadow for transitioning but everything else is a beautiful metallic/shimmer color. This is a great neautral palette with an illuminating twist.

  • Hot Damn!(reddish purple glitter)
  • Glitter Goals (dark lavender glitter)
  • Rosé All Day (millennial pink glitter)

  • Oh It’s On (true gold glitter)
  • Splash (navy green glitter)

Top Row: Fairy Dust, Confetti, Hot Damn!, & Glitter Goals
Bottom Row: Rosé All Day, Work It, Oh It’s On, & Splash
From L-R: Glitter Goals on top of Brightening Base, Hot Damn on top of Brightening Base, Splash on top of Intensifying Base, & Oh It's On on top of Intensifying Base
Verdict: Let me first say that I love Too Faced products. The quality is always great and the packaging is killer but this palette was such a huge disappointment. I remember seeing a sneak peak of this palette on Instagram months ago and thinking to myself how amazing it was going to be but the palette that Too Faced released is just so sub par. The shadows were all so chalky and there was a ton of fall out. The pigmentation was also a hit or miss depending on the shade. The top row shades and white base were very difficult to work with. Even with a glitter primer on the outcome was patchy and the shades were quite chalky. The bottom row shades worked a little bit better but not enough to justify purchasing the entire palette. I honestly loved the concept of this palette and had it been executed better it would have been a hit but save your money and skip this new Fall release there will be plenty of other new beauty products to choose from.

NAILS INC. Unicorn Nail Polish Duo

What it is:
A long-wearing, high shine holographic nail polish duo that brings gleam and sparkle to your nails.

Colors in Set:

  • Dream Dust (rose gold sparkle)
  • Rainbow Wishes (soft rainbow lilac sheen)
Pictures just don't do these polishes justice.

Verdict: I absolutely love this nail polish set. Both colors are gorgeous and different than other nail polish colors that I own. The formula was amazing. It applied smoothly and looked great after just two coats. Also the application brush was just perfect. It was short and wide making it really easy to paint your own nails cleanly. I really wished that this set wasn't limited edition but I would highly recommend grabbing this set if you can find one.

* If you would like to pick up one your own NAILS INC. Unicorn Nail Polish Duo it is available for $15.00 at Sephora. Click the link for more details: Sephora

**At the time of this post the set is currently sold out online but you may still be able to find it in-store.

Butter London Glazen Eye Glosses (All 6 Shades)

What it is:
A lightweight, crease-resistant eye shadow that delivers a wet look shine, without being wet. The playful, pudding-like texture applies like a gel, but dries like a powder and lasts all day.

Available Colors:

  • Icing (cool sparkling mauve)
  • Moonshine (cool sparkling taupe)
  • Bronzed (rich sparkling deep bronze)
  • Frosted (warm sparkling rose gold)
  • Oil Slick (sparkling chameleon)
  • Spark (warm sparkling champagne)

Verdict: I stumbled upon these eye glosses while I was roaming around ULTA. The colors were soo sparkly that they just caught my attention. The shadows have a gel like consistency and apply soo smoothly. The colors all look amazing and don't budge once they dry. I did experience a little bit of creasing but nothing that a primer or setting spray can't fix. I actually think I may like these Butter London eye glosses more than the Stila Magnificent Metal liquid shadows. Overall
I must say these eye glosses are amazing.

Lancôme Le Metallique Eye Colors for Summer 2017

What it is:
Long-wearing, high-pigment metallic eyeshadows without the fuss.

Colors in the Collection:

  • Bronze Rivage 04 (copper bronze)
  • Mocha Swing 05  (taupe brown)
  • Brise Azure 01 (turquoise blue)
  • Or Farniente 03 (champagne gold)

Verdict: I did some quick swatches of these new metallic shadows from Lancome and they are just beautiful. The colors applied so smoothly and are perfectly opaque. The shadow is applied with a doe foot applicator onto the eye lids and it dried very quickly. All in all, I am a fan of the new formulation.

BECCA X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette

What it is:
A limited-edition face palette co-created with Chrissy Teigen. The palette features 2 highlighters, a blush, and a bronzer. Just mix, layer, and blend these formulas to get your perfect summer glow.

Colors in this Palette:
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold (subtle gold with rose)
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector in Beach Nectar (juicy apricot with gold)
  • Luminous Blush in Hibiscus Bloom (golden-pink coral)
  • Sunlit Bronzer in Malibu Soleil (medium amber)

Colors from L-R: Rose Gold, Peach Nectar, Hibiscus Bloom, Malibu Soleil
Verdict: I am loving this collaboration. Just like the Jaclyn Hill collaboration, the colors in this palette are gorgeous and look awesome on my light/medium skin tone. Each shade is soo pigmented and applies like butter. This palette is a huge hit for me, and I can't wait to play around with it more.

Butter London + Pantone Color Of The Year Eyeshadow Palette

What it is:
Inspired by GREENERY, the PANTONE Color of the Year, this 8-piece eyeshadow palette celebrates the essence of natural beauty. Say hello to a range of fiercely feminine, wildly luxurious color, infused with vitality and pure ebullience.

Colors in the Palette:
  • Rose Quartz (nude pink sheen)
  • Pashmina (matte violet grey)
  • Taffeta (shimmering violet)
  • Periscope (shimmering gunmetal)
  • Bone (matte eggshell)
  • Marble (matte soft dusty pink)
  • Greenery (matte vibrant green)
  • Velour (matte deep plum)

Rose Quartz, Pashmina, Taffeta, Periscope
Bone, Marble, Greenery, Velour

Verdict: I have been holding on to this palette for a few weeks now and finally decided to use it. This palette is actually quite neutral other than the included Greenery shade. The shadows in the palette are very buttery and pigmented however there is a lot of fall out and I found the colors difficult to blend. I really loved the shimmer shades that were included but the matte shadows just weren't for me. Overall I just was not the biggest fan of this palette and honestly do not see myself reaching for it in the future.

If you would like to pick up your own Butter London + Pantone Color Of The Year Eye Shadow Palette it is currently available for $29.00 at ULTA and the Butter London Website. Click the links for more details: ULTA, Butter London
