Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Collection Foil Finger Paints Shadow Palette

What it is:
An eye shadow palette with new, velvet textured foiled eye shadows that are so plush and pigmented, you can paint them on with your fingers.

Palette includes three foil finish shades and a split pan with two sparkling shades:

  • Gold Coast (champagne)
  • Sailor’s Delight (burgundy)
  • Sea Glass (chocolate)
  • Stargazer (sunset/silver)

Verdict: I absolutely loved this palette. The packaging is gorgeous, the colors are amazing and the glitter is the icing on top. These finger foil shadows are so buttery and pigmented. The colors are unique and look amazing on the lids. My favorite part of this palette has to be the Stargazer glitter shadow duo. The glitter is so intense and I didn't experience much fall out. I really hope Tarte makes a whole line of these sparkley glitter shadows. This palette is awesome and I am so glad I purchased one.

* If you would like to pick up your own Tarte Foil Finger Paints Shadow Palette  it retails for $39 and is available at Sephora and on the Tarte website. Click the links for more details: Sephora, Tarte

Pantone Universe Color of the Year 2018: Ultra Violet

Pantone recently announced the 2018 color of the year and this year it is all about Ultra Violet.

Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own.

Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking. It also symbolizes experimentation and non-conformity, spurring individuals to imagine their unique mark on the world, and push boundaries through creative outlets.

For the second year in a row, Butter London had the honor of teaming up with Pantone to release a Color of the Year collection. The Butter London collection consists of new nail lacquers, liquid lipsticks, lip glosses, and eye products.

KAT VON D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter Palette

What it is:
A super-limited edition highlighter palette with three metallic shades for light-catching dimension.

Colors in the Palette:

  • Gammaray (prismatic peach with pink and gold crystals)
  • Helix ( ethereal opal with gold and silver crystals)
  • Roseshock (pearlescent pink with lavender and pink crystals)

Over the past few years there has been a plethora of highlighters hitting the beauty market so a product needs to be different to grab a buyers attention. Enter Kat Von D with her metallic highlighting trio. The colors in this palette are so unique and just scream Glitter Fairy Mermaid to me. The formula was buildable and extremely pigmented. However the palette ended up being a bit disappointing. The shades were more glitter based than metallic and unfortunately there was some major fall out since the formula was chalky. I don't think I would wear any of these colors as a highlighter but they would make beautiful eyeshadow colors. I would suggest passing on this palette and just saving your money.

Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 - Joya Holiday Edition

What it is:
A limited edition palette with five soft, buildable eyeshadows.

Colors from L - R:

  • Peach Gold
  • Fuchsia
  • Gold
  • Red Grape
  • Star Bronze

I am a huge fan of Natasha Denona eye shadows, her shadow formula is spot on and worth the luxe price point. For the 2017 Holiday season Natasha Denona released 2 limited edition eye palettes. I was really drawn to the warm toned colors in the Joya palette. The shades are stunning in person and have great pigmentation. The shades blend out beautifully and there is no fall out. The quality on these eye shadows is not on the same level as her bigger palettes but overall I am happy with my purchase.

* If you would like to pick up your own Natasha Denona Holiday Eyeshadow Palette it retails for $48 and is currently available at Sephora. Click the link for more details: Sephora

ColourPop Semi Precious Shadow Palette

What it is:
A highly pigmented metallic eyeshadow palette, inspired by the stars and celestial lights.

Colors in the Palette:

  • Upon A Star (cool rose)
  • Beam Me Up ( icy pale blue)
  • Bashful (soft icy green)
  • The Game (antique gold)
  • Celestial (warm champagne ivory)
  • West Star (rich copper brown)
  • Up & Atom (golden amber)
  • Easy Go (vibrant cranberry)

Verdict: This palette is absolutely fantastic. The colors are beautiful, fun, and totally wearable. The colors apply very smoothly and have a buttery texture. The pigmentation is amazing, as well. The shadow pans are larger than the standard $16 ColourPop eye shadow palettes which explains the price differentiation. This palette would be fantastic for the holidays or as an add on to a matte shadow palette.

* If you would like to pick up your own ColourPop Semi Precious Shadow Palette it retails for $26 and is available at Sephora and the ColourPop website. Click the link for more details: Sephora, ColourPop

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Starlit Hyper-Glitz Lipsticks

What it is:
A limited-edition metallic lipstick that’s buildable to the ultimate jewel chrome finish.

Colors in the Collection:
Gravity (shimmering hot pink)
Sci-Fly (glimmering garnet)
$upanova (twinkling pink orchid)
Supermoon (sparkling peach)

I was soo excited when I heard that Rihanna was releasing a holiday collection for her Fenty Beauty line. The brand has become an overnight success thanks to its motto of "Beauty for All." I really wanted to love these lippies but unfortunately they just didn't meet my expectations. First off let me start out with the pros. The packaging on these lipsticks was spot on. The shape of the tube and the coloring were very unique. The formula was also very buttery however the cons outweigh the pros. I was hoping for a big glitter blast on my lips but instead I barely got a wash of color. The lipstick formula was very sheer. There was not enough pigment to hide my natural lip color so everything looked very uneven. Overall the lipstick was very drying, ended up looking gritty, and had no staying power. I am sad to say that this lipstick was just hyped up too much and in the end what you end up purchasing is a tube of gloried chapstick.
