Laura Mercier Watercolour Clouds Collection

Laura Mercier is ready for Spring 2015 with their brand new Watercolour Clouds Collection

I picked up two of the limited edition products from the collection. Swatches are below.

Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour in "Nude Rose" - A fresh coat of liquid demi-matte colour with every stroke. Rich, cushiony, colourfast shades float on lips and stay the day ($28).

Watercolour Mist Eye & Cheek PaletteThis beautiful palette contains six Matte Sateen Eye Colours, a brand new formula for Laura Mercier, and two cheek shades ($58).

  • Mist (rainy day, sky blue)
  • Fog (wheat)
  • Storm (cement green)
  • Wind( muted mauve)
  • Purple Rain (light purple)
  • Cloud (tealish navy)
  • Sunset ( soft pink blush)
  • Earth ( matte light brown bronzer)

Verdict: I am on the fence with this collection. I love Laura Mercier products but the palette from their Spring collection just didn't work for me. The pigmentation on the colors was pretty horrible and the coloring definitely does not work on all skin tones. I did love the lip color however and I can see the gel liner and lipstick being big hits as well. Its just upsetting since the main focus of the collection is suppose to be the palette.

Sephora+Pantone Universe Color of the Year 2015: MARSALA

A few weeks ago Pantone announced the 2015 color of the year and this year it is all about "MARSALA."  A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.

I am very happy about this year's color choice and couldn't wait to purchase some "marsala" colored products. I headed to Sephora and picked up a few items from the Sephora + Pantone Universe collaboration.

Below are the items I purchased, along with their swatches:

Marsala Metalshine Liquid Liner          $18.00

Pure Marsala Matte Lip Crème             $18.00

Shimmering Marsala Cheek Trio         $28.00

* I really like the pigmentation and quality of these items from the Sephora + Pantone Universe collection. It's important to note thought that these items are sold out online and in most Sephora stores. If you are interested in any of the items from the Marsala collection, do not fret because Sephora will be re-launching them this upcoming March 2015.

STILA Field of Florals Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Palette

What it is:
A palette of dual lip and cheek creams that blend on effortlessly, leaving lips and cheeks with a translucent pop of color.

What it does:
Long-loved by beauty editors for their petal-soft textures and dewy finishes, each of these 12 shades is inspired by a flower. Stila's lip and blush palette proves to create an irresistible look. Creamy and non-greasy, each sheer tint leaves a natural glow to the cheeks while lips get a burst of fresh, radiant color. This palette is encased in a portable, mini mirrored-compact for seamless touch ups on the go.

This set contains the following colors from L - R :

  • Lillium (nude pink)
  • Magnolia (soft mauve)
  • Tulip (rosy red)
  • Camellia (peachy brown)
  • Peony (brownish rose)
  • Rose (rosy pink)

  • Gladiola (bright orange cream)
  • Peach Blossom (bright peach)
  • Hibiscus (neon pinkish red )
  • Gerbera (light pastel peach)
  • Petunia (bright coral pink)
  • Fuchsia (bright pink)

Verdict: I absolutely love this palette. It contains any cheek/lip color you can think of. I am a huge fan of Stila's convertible colors and love how this palette included some of Stila's limited edition colors all in a convenient travel palette.

Kat Von D Innerstellar Eyeshadow Palette

What it is:
A limited-edition eye shadow palette featuring twelve unexpected neutrals in a stellar array of shimmers and mattes to deliver effortless celestial looks.

What it does:
Experience the bolder side of neutral with this lunar-inspired palette of cool, cosmic colors. These twelve new provocative shades are brilliantly arranged into three quads, each featuring a large, versatile base or highlighter shade with a corresponding trio of accent hues—from irresistible silvers to moon-dust nudes and smoldering earth tones in pearl and matte finishes. These ultra smooth eye shadows are milled with a triple-jet process to yield rich pigment in just one swipe while delivering the ultimate blendability and crease-free wear.

This Set Contains the Following Colors from L-R:

  • Gravitron (soft iridescent pink)
  • Night Crawler (matte dusty beige)
  • Dios (silvery gray iridescence)
  • Lunacy (rich pearlized purple)
  • Vast (pearlized taupe)
  • Astrological (pale lilac sheen)
  • Darkstar (purplish pewter)
  • Orion (matte chocolate brown)
  • Lycan (matte cream)
  • 3am (metallic champagne)
  • Moonshine (metallic silver)
  • Killing Moon (matte black)

Verdict: I really wanted to love this palette but most of the colors weren't anything unique. The neutral colors all seemed dupeable to me however the metallic finished colors were amazing. The pigmentation and color pay on them is gorgeous. If you don't own many palettes KVD's Innerstellar palette would be a great addition to your collection but if like myself you own quite a few I would skip it. Hopefully Kat Von D releases some of these metallic eye shadows in singles.

* If you would like to pick up your own Kat Von D Innerstellar Palette, it is available now for $46.00 at Sephora. Click the link for more details: SEPHORA
